ROCHESTER A.B.O.V.E. (Rochester Africans Between Oceans and Voices Expo) is a non-profit organization based in Rochester, NY and was established in January 2005. Rochester A.B.O.V.E is dedicated to making a difference in the community among African-Americans both young and old. We are currently in the process of developing a program to restructure our youth, teaching them to embrace education and rise above the challenges that surround them daily. The youth in our community are crying out for attention….for help which is displayed in the senseless acts of violence that is taking over our streets and our neighborhood. We plan to develop a mentoring program that will provide self-esteem, guidance and support to these young individuals.
The Genesee Valley Section of AACE International offers a diverse professional program of technical meetings and educational opportunities for cost management professionals in engineering, construction, manufacturing, education, and government.
The NYNGCC 209th Regiment is a free program that offers young adults 10-17 an opportunity to remain drug and crime free through their involvement in a structured enviroment. Cadets are provided with leadership, life skills, integrity, self discipline, responsibility and physical fitness.
Sample Soap gathers unused toiletries and redistributes them to Rochester's neediest citizens. In our 10 years, we have collected more than 13 tons, and have been recognized by USA Today, Points of Light Foundation & the White House. We have fun volunteer opportunities for anyone of any age!
